A Journey Through Natural Wonders and Cultural Heritage
The multi-day, zero-emission convoy started in the vibrant city of Zadar, taking participants on an unforgettable route designed to showcase the very best of Croatia’s cultural and natural heritage. The rally crossed national parks and dramatic coastal roads, combining premium hospitality with a strong ecological message.
A central highlight of this year’s route was the historic coastal city of Zadar. Participants displayed their electric vehicles through the ancient Roman streets, stopping at the world-famous “Greeting to the Sun” and the “Sea Organ” installations-monuments that perfectly mirror the rally’s philosophy of harnessing nature’s energy. The energy of Zadar’s historic core, combined with the quiet hum of cutting-edge EV technology, created a spectacular visual for thousands of tourists and locals.
The eco-expedition also included breathtaking stops that highlighted Croatia’s UNESCO heritage and raw wilderness, in Trogir drivers explored the breathtaking, labyrinth-like streets of this island-town museum, completely enchanted by its remarkably preserved medieval and Renaissance architecture. In Šibenik they visited the magnificent St. James Cathedral, a stone architectural masterpiece that serves as a proud symbol of Croatia’s rich maritime and cultural history. The rally route included also the majestic, deep karst canyon of the Zrmanja River, offering participants a dramatic view of one of Europe’s most beautiful and untouched green rivers and National Park Krka where participants were mesmerized by the park’s stunning travertine waterfalls and emerald waters, emphasizing the rally’s core mission to protect and admire vulnerable river ecosystems.
The emotional heart of the rally was the traditional stop in Smiljan, the birthplace of Nikola Tesla. Here, drivers paid tribute to the visionary inventor whose work laid the foundation for modern electrical engineering and the very vehicles driven in the rally today.
Setting the Benchmark for Sustainable Tourism
Beyond the competitive element, the Nikola Tesla EV Rally Croatia serves as a powerful platform for promoting sustainable tourism. By utilizing Croatia’s expanding EV charging infrastructure along the entire route, the event proved that luxury travel and absolute environmental preservation can go hand in hand.
“This rally is a living proof that sustainable tourism is not a concept for the future—it is happening right now,” said the organizing committee. “By driving zero-emission vehicles through our national parks and protected coastal areas, we demonstrate how to enjoy Croatia’s breathtaking natural beauties without leaving a footprint.
The rally is designed as a celebration of sustainable travel. The route through national parks, historic cities and coastal landscapes, supported by a network of charging stations offers a chance to experience local culture, traditional cuisine and authentic hospitality because luxury and sustainability are a perfect pair.
We congratulate our winners from Germany and Croatia, who perfectly embody the international spirit of this green transition, and thank our partners and sponsors such as Croatian Tourist Board, Zadar Tourist Board, Environmental Protection and Energy Efficiency Fund and many others who support our project.
